Uncertainty
Reality is irreducibly probabilistic. Learning to reason under uncertainty — from coin flips to quantum mechanics to black swans — is one of the most powerful thinking skills you can develop.
The Core Insight
Heisenberg's uncertainty principle is not about clumsy measurements — it is intrinsic to nature. Chaos is not randomness — it's deterministic unpredictability. A black swan is not rare — it's outside your model. Most of what we call "certainty" is just well-calibrated uncertainty.
